The 5th & Lamar journey began in 2009 when two roommates in Austin had a problem many of us have faced: finding a dress shirt that fits perfectly! We grew tired of buying shirts designed for the masses and wanted shirts designed for us! So we set out on a mission to invent a shirt for slimmer, more athletic men and in the process, pioneered the slim fit shirt.

After countless prototypes, late night coffee runs, and probably hundreds of tacos, we landed on our first design, and created the original slim fit shirt in 2009.

We decided to name the company 5th & Lamar after the Austin intersection we called home. And because we love Austin so much, we named each design after an Austin landmark. This is why you’ll never see a flashy celebrity marketing our shirt, unless they’re from Austin.

Since 5th & Lamar was built on a foundation of friendship, and it is our most important guiding principle; we don’t believe in corporate customer service - we treat every customer just like we do our own friends.
